Nike Global Packaging Rebrands
In producing over half a billion packaging items annually, Nike sought to reduce the environmental impact of its packaging as well as implement a rebranded packaging and garment labeling system across Nike brands and licensees. I was part of the creation of a cross-functional team at Tolleson that became Nike’s Global Packaging Design Studio. I managed two global packaging rebrands and applied the brand’s updated language and visual system to a portfolio of packages, hangtags, labels, signage, and retail bags. I managed the pre-press and manufacturing process across Nike’s global vendor network, ensuring consistent print quality, material consistency, and color accuracy globally.
The primary challenge was implementing the design system across a diverse range of form factors and materials. The substrates utilized included paper, board stock, RPET, woven labels, direct print labels, and heat transfers. To ensure accuracy of all print and material standards, I worked with Nike’s global vendors to validate the system. This collaboration allowed us to replicate the results across the diverse equipment specifications and of each supplier.
