Nike Move To Zero Packaging

Nike’s Move To Zero initiative aims for zero carbon and waste. At Tolleson, as part of Nike’s Global Packaging Design Studio, I worked to develop a retail shopping bag solution, replacing single-use plastic bags with recyclable Kraft paper shoppers. We also created a reusable tote system made from recycled water bottles. Additionally I worked on the Nike One Box, made of 90% recycled material eliminating the “box in a box” issue and serving as a return box, thus reducing waste.

Collaborating with the design and Nike teams, I implemented MTZ messaging globally on shoppers and totes as stores transitioned from plastic to paper. Working with vendors from over 20 regions, I translated approved designs into unique die line requirements. I “right-sized” die lines to meet packing requirements while accommodating print and manufacturing equipment. Overseeing paper selection, ink approvals, proofing, and printing, I ensured color match and brand standards were met. Today, the Move To Zero initiative is integrated into Nike’s comprehensive Global Packaging System.
